Machine Shop Technician
The Machine Shop Technician assists the Machine Shop team in achieving production, quality, housekeeping, and safety goals. This role will be responsible for following key procedures and work instructions for a diverse set of tasks. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to start a career in manufacturing and machining
Responsibilities
- Performs and maintains machine shop by routine/non-routine cleanings
- Handling and discarding of hazardous and non-hazardous materials
- Maintain clean shop floor by clearing metal chips or other fragments and washing the floors
- Clean Break Rooms
- Empty trash and maintain hygienic work environment
- Wash and clean machines after use
- Grind and debur machined parts
- Tack weld baffles together for Machinists
- Assemble Components for our products
- Saw material to required specifications
- Empty chip dumpster and move parts in and out of the shop
- Operate forklift
- Operate overhead crane
- Assist Machinists as required
- Follow safe work habits and safety rules
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Able to follow detail instructions
- Excellent communication skills
- Forklift certified or ability to become Forklift certified
- Understanding of power tools safety protocols
